Day 1: Arrive in Sarria

Arrive in the vibrant town of Sarria. Collect your Pilgrim Passport (Credencial) and enjoy exploring the picturesque medieval streets before your walk begins tomorrow.

Walk from Sarria to Portomarín (23 km)

Walk along quiet forest tracks, granite pathways, and oak woodlands, passing small rural hamlets before descending to the Belesar reservoir into Portomarín.

Day 3: Portomarín to Palas de Rei

Walk from Portomarín to Palas de Rei (23 km)

Ascend gently up Monte San Antonio and continue across rolling agricultural countryside and pine forests through historic villages like Ligonde.

Day 4: Palas de Rei to Arzúa

Walk from Palas de Rei to Arzúa (29 km)

Cross river valleys and ancient stone bridges into Melide. Sample local Galician octopus before continuing through eucalyptus forests toward Arzúa.

Day 5: Arzúa to Arca

Walk from Arzúa to Arca (19 km)

Follow tranquil meadow paths and oak groves through small hamlets like Salceda and Santa Irene.

Day 6: Arca to Santiago de Compostela

Walk from Arca to Santiago de Compostela (20 km)

Pass Lavacolla and climb Monte del Gozo for your first views of the cathedral spires. Enter the old town and end your journey in Plaza del Obradoiro.

Day 7: Explore Santiago de Compostela

Spend a full day exploring Santiago’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, visit the Pilgrim’s Office to collect your Compostela, and attend Pilgrim Mass at the Cathedral.

Enjoy breakfast before check-out. Santiago Airport (SCQ) is a short taxi or bus ride away.
