Experience the breathtaking contrast of Montenegro’s rugged mountains and its shimmering turquoise coastline. Based in the vibrant seaside resort of Budva, this guided walking tour takes you from the limestone peaks of Lovćen National Park to the tranquil waters of Lake Skadar.
Led by expert local guides, you will explore medieval walled towns, walk historic caravan routes, and enjoy panoramic views over the Bay of Kotor. This is a journey through a landscape rich in history, where ancient fortifications meet Mediterranean charm.

Day 1:
Arrival & Guided Walking Tour of Budva
Transfer to Budva, Montenegro.
Fly from Dublin to Dubrovnik, then transfer to Budva, Montenegro. On arrival, settle into your hotel. Enclosed by Venetian walls, this charming quarter is home to narrow streets, historic churches, and lively squares – a perfect introduction to your trip.

Day 2:
Hiking in Lovćen National Park
Lovćen National Park
Today begins with a guided walking tour of Budva’s Old Town followed by a cable car ride from Kotor into Lovćen National Park. Walk through meadows, woodlands, and limestone slopes, with wide views over the coast and Lake Skadar. This area is also of cultural importance, home to the Mausoleum of Njegoš, Montenegro’s national poet and ruler. Return to Budva in the evening.

Day 3:
Walk to River Crnojevića
Lake Skadar to the small village of River Crnojevića
Follow a downhill path from the hills above Lake Skadar to the small village of River Crnojevića. Follow a historic route along an old caravan road and footpath on the left bank of the river. The trail passes one of Montenegro’s earliest hydropower plants and the remains of old mills, offering a look into the area’s industrial past. The varied landscape and quiet surroundings make this a walk that combines natural interest with local history.

Day 4:
Vrmac Ridge Hike
Peninsula between the Bay of Kotor and the Bay of Tivat
Walk along the Vrmac Ridge, a quiet peninsula between the Bay of Kotor and the Bay of Tivat. The trail passes old fortifications and hamlets, with rewarding views of both bays. Return to Budva for dinner and an evening at leisure.

Coastal Walk in the Hills of Budva
Overlook Budva from the hills above
Enjoy a walk through the hills overlooking Budva, passing olive groves, meadows, and small villages. The route offers regular viewpoints over the Adriatic coastline before returning to your hote

Kotor & Bay Excursion7
Take a guided tour of the UNESCO-listed city of Kotor
Take a guided tour of the UNESCO-listed city of Kotor, with its medieval streets and squares. In the afternoon, enjoy a 2-hour speedboat trip on the Bay of Kotor, including a visit to Our Lady of the Rocks island.
